At Episode 9, many surprises were had. It was a very insane and intense night, but we can't look back now, as we head on to Episode 10, where there maybe even more surprises in store!
All the way back at Episode 2, Crypto and Vancouver St. Daniels met one on one in the ring, where Vancouver won in his debut match. Now, both Crypto and Vancouver have been both doing many things since then, including things such as Crypto acquiring a hat and the greatest pair of shoes, and Vancouver...having matches. Nonetheless, this is a rematch 8 episodes in the making. Who will claim the next victory?
Your American hero Bodacious Bo has been on a roll! He has gone 3 and Bo so far, and he looks to continue to impress. The Fish on a Plaque winner has issued in his words, a "Bopen Challenge". However, we don't know if he'll use this challenge to call out Fatty McYardtard, the man who ate his Fish on a Plaque, or use it to go 4 and Bo. Regardless, the only thing that is certain is that Bodacious Bo will be in action! Will he extend the record or will it snap?
The hunt for the Six String title has been heating up rapidly since the announcement of the Fatal 4 Way for the title at World Long Gone. La Red and Devon Callahan have already shared a series of matches, including the impressive victory by Devon, ending La Red's 9 win streak. Erika Reinhardt has been trash talking nearly all the competitors and had an impressive match with Clark Walker. Lastly, Sterling Pierce has been making a statement after his period of absense, talking trash about all 3 competitors, and using his submission tactics to make Fatty tap out at Episode 9, like how he did to Erika Reinhardt. Now all four have been set in a tag team match, in pairings that hopefully will not go wrong. The good hearted La Red will team up with the convict Sterling Pierce to take on the tag team of the fierce rivals, Devon Callahan and Erika Reinhardt. Emotions will hit an all time high in this tag team contest. Which team can stick together and walk away with the victory?
One of the two biggest stories of Episode 9 was the debut of Sir Dan Danielson The Third. He came out and laid out Canadian Dragon after CanDrag called out Dirk Derek about a stolen TV. Sir Dan then left CanDrag lying there, leaving a cryptic statement. Now, Sir Dan has requested a match with former world champion and current dancer Fatty McYardtard. Will Sir Dan ride the wave of momentum after his shocking debut or will Fatty show why he is a former world champion?
The other big story of Episode 9 was the debut of another wrestler, Laura Brennan, who took on Clark Walker in the second gauntlet match, leading to a long grueling match that Laura eventually lost. However, she was not distraught over this loss, and seemed very excited for the future ahead. So in this contest, she will face someone who is said to have a big future ahead in their career. She will face one half of the current TDW Blast Beats Champions, Harold Remington-Harrington. While Laura has been on the sidelines, Harold has been taking TDW by storm with his tag team partner, Richie Stevens. Now, in a battle some may label Past vs Future, Laura Brennan takes on Harold Remington-Harrington! Will Laura's experience lead her to victory, or will Harold continue his success?
Darby Brizen had a bad night last night. Darby and her brother Derrick lost a tag team match against the Hatventurers last episode and Derrick did not take losing well. After the match, Derrick attacked Darby, splitting them up, and leaving Darby in tears after the show. Now, Darby will have to go solo in TDW, and she has a opportunity to show that the split up has not affected her as she will face Cornelius K. Racy. Can Darby overcome the emotion and physical assault by her brother last episode and overcome Cornelius, or will Cornelius show us why he should be in everyones nightmares?
As World Long Gone approaches, title matches need to be set, and in this Number 1 Contendership match, the Hatventurers opponents shall be set in stone. After J.C. Stone accompanied by his partner, Eli McSweeney, confronted TDW General Manager Bill Atlas at Episode 9 for a title match, they got something that could give them a title match instead. After a string of bad luck after Eternity, the PPA look to get it together against a team that has had it together. Ricky D'Amore and Kittie Katz have had impressive victories over the PPA and Team LEWD, and look to continue. But one must think if someone or something is watching Ricky and Kittie based on Episode 9's events. Nonetheless, these two teams will clash for the opportunity of a lifetime. Who will earn the spot? The Posse Protection Agency, or Ricky D'Amore and Kittie Katz?
Finally, in the main event, we reach the absolute conclusion of the Gauntlet. This match, unlike the previous one, will be no mystery to Clark, nor the TDW fans. Clark Walker has gone through Erika Reinhardt and Laura Brennan, two fierce competitors, both looking for a title shot, and both looking to claim their first title in TDW by earning a Guitar Warrior title match with Guitar Warrior Marty Jannetty. However, Clark's opponent is different from Laura and Erika. This opponent has already won a title in TDW, and has already held titles in different places. We're talking about one half of the Hatventurers, one of the TDW Blast Beats champions. We are talking about Richie Stevens. Richie has been very impressive in TDW, which is to be expected of him. He has already captured a tag title with the young Harold Remington-Harrington and he has a chance to enter himself in a match for the Guitar Warrior Championship. This is a high stakes match for both men, and both need to be at the top of their game. Who will face Marty Jannetty for the strap? Clark Walker or Richie Stevens? All of this will be answered at Episode 10!
